Cottage Weekend Menu (vegan, toddler-friendly)

Here’s what we brought on our most recent cottage trip with a 8.5-month-old baby and a 3-year-old toddler! We do something similar if we’re camping too and it works well. Minimize the cooking/clean-up required when we’re away!

  • Day 1

    • Breakfast: at home before we left

    • Lunch: hummus & cucumber sandwiches & berries on the road

    • Dinner: beet burgers & buns with condiments/toppings

    • Snacks: energy balls, cashews, walnuts, dates, dried apricots, crackers & cashew cheese, chocolate

  • Day 2

    • Breakfast: Vegan Belgian Waffles (we prepared and froze in advance) with sliced bananas, strawberries, walnuts, coconut yogurt and maple syrup

    • Lunch: beet burgers & buns with condiments/toppings

    • Dinner: rotini pasta with homemade sauce (sauce was prepared and tossed in a mason jar in advance. You can totally use sauce from a can/jar too but we like to add in extra veggies/goodness). Just boil the pasta, top with sauce and add nutritional yeast flakes!

    • Snacks: vegan marshmallows, chocolate graham crackers, crackers & cashew cheese, energy balls, cashews, walnuts, dates, dried apricots, granola bar (packaged) for toddler

  • Day 3

    • Breakfast: boiled eggs, toast, strawberries, blueberries

    • Lunch: hummus & cucumber sandwiches & berries on the road

    • Snacks: ice cream on the way home, crackers & cashew cheese, energy balls, cashews, walnuts, dates, dried apricots, granola bar (packaged) for toddler

    • Dinner: get take-out on the way home or have a frozen dinner waiting for you - the LAST thing you want is hangry kids/adults when you get home from a trip
