Milestones: baby vs mom

My son just turned 6 months old. He started solids, loves to babble and is on the verge of crawling!

We all celebrate when our babies start to roll, crawl, eat, speak and sleep through the night. And of course! It's huge and it's exciting!

But let’s not forget to take a step back and remind ourselves of how far WE’VE come too. Because that's just as exciting!

Today, I celebrate 6 months of...
🌟being alive and well during this pandemic
🌟having a supportive family, who are all alive and well
🌟being a mom of 2
🌟giving birth during a pandemic
🌟exclusively breastfeeding
🌟not checking the scale all the time "just out of curiosity"
🌟managed anxiety
🌟exercising regularly and getting stronger
🌟minimal postpartum symptoms
🌟being able to share my knowledge, expertise and passion with all of you
🌟having the courage to live my life in a way that is authentic to me and no one else

And so, to celebrate these past 6 months, we got dressed and took some nice family pictures. So that when I look back, I'll remember that I took a moment to acknowledge this 6-months milestone. Not just for my son, but for me.

I would love to hear from you, what are you celebrating about yourself - big or small?
