Hi, I’m Surabhi! (pronounced Soo-ruh-bee)
My transition to motherhood was challenging to say the least. Not only did I experience major body changes, bleeding and severe nausea in pregnancy, but my abs disappeared postpartum, my bladder was bulging out of my vagina, and I was peeing myself even on short walks. I went to pelvic physiotherapy and left frustrated, disappointed and demotivated. Despite being “fit” pre-pregnancy (I was a competitive runner, cross country skier, cyclist, dancer and rock climber), I was limited to low-impact and boring exercises like Kegels and bridges for months postpartum. I resented my body, felt like I’d lost my identity, and suffered postpartum depression and anxiety.
It wasn’t until I met an incredible pelvic physiotherapist & coach online that my life changed! I stopped feeling like my body failed me. I experienced that you can be strong, confident & athletic regardless of your size, shape, symptoms, scars or stretch marks.
My unique approach
What’s really cool is I worked in sports medicine as an orthopaedic physiotherapist and FCAMPT for 10 years before delving into pre/postnatal pelvic health and fitness over the past 4 years. Many pelvic floor issues begin outside the pelvic floor, and I use my expertise and advanced training in musculoskeletal injuries to address your pelvic health and your whole body. What this means is you get more optimal results right from the start!
