7 things you need to know if you have prolapse

Calling all people with prolapse!

Here are 7 things you need to here:

1️⃣ It's really not your fault. You can have a fit pregnancy, be a super athlete, be strong, avoid constipation, not be straining, have a dream birth, aaaand still have prolapse

2️⃣ Get mental health support. You may be at a greater risk or postpartum anxiety and depression. Worrying about your prolapse doesn't make it better and the stress or hyperawareness or symptoms can make symptoms worse

3️⃣ Seggs isn't ruined. It's just not!

4️⃣ It doesn't affect your future ability to have kids or have a v@ginal birth. And it doesn't mean it'll get worse if you have another baby either!

5️⃣ Pessaries are like a sports-bra for your v@g. Super helpful for so many people! Let's ditch the stigma and get you the support you need! If it allows you to be more active and confident, that's a good thing. You need to ask a specialist about this as many family docs don't know enough about it and are unfortunately deterring clients from receiving the support they need.

6️⃣ Kegels are not the answer. Tightening your pelvic floor all day won't improve your prolapse (hot tip: it makes your symptoms WORSE)

7️⃣ Get STRONG in your entire body, particularly your glutes (butt), legs and core. Aaaand arms and back. That's right, strengthening your entire body will help your prolapse.
