One year since my very first client after I opened up my own business. I was less than 4 months postpartum with my second kid, and life was a whirlwind. I feel like a whole decade was squeezed into this past year 😅 And in other ways, it feels like I'm just getting started!

I'd love to share a bit more about my back story.

When I had my first child over 3.5 years ago (that last pic 😍), I had NO idea how hard it would be to balance. I was athletic, fit, and healthy before having babies. Everyone told me I would bounce right back. WRONG! I was barely getting any sleep, my mental health was declining, and I had a baby that wanted to nurse all day and night. What was even harder was I ended up with a whole slew of postpartum symptoms including prolapse, incontinence & diastasis recti.

Despite diligently doing my Pelvic Physiotherapy exercises, I was still left unable to lift, carry, run or jump without symptoms. I felt lost, discouraged and disappointed in my own body. I was afraid to have another baby because I didn’t want to go through it all again. And worse - I felt completely unsupported by my healthcare team. I was an athlete and a mom with goals beyond a sedentary life, but I'd lost all confidence in my body.

This is what drove me to switch my career path after working in sports medicine and orthopaedics for 10 years. I knew I had to learn more about pregnancy and postpartum health so I could better support mothers. We deserve better!

When I started my biz last year, I had a handful of clients. I'd do online consults while my kids napped or while my husband took them out. It was incredibly hard to juggle yet so worth it.

I created and launched my signature 8-week Postpartum Return to Exercise Program (PREP) last January. PREP is the program I wish I had as a new mom. It combines postpartum rehab, education and fitness, within a supportive community. With the isolation and stressors of being a mom, we need to choose community now more than ever before.
